Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy identifies and describes the way Lumos LLMs uses and protects the information we collect about our Customers and Users. All uses of Lumos LLMs products and services, as well as visits to our websites or applications, are subject to this Privacy Policy. The purpose of this document is to help you understand what information is collected from or about you, how this information is used and protected, and what options you have with regard to this information.

Lumos LLMs provides tools to create and manage an llms.txt file that helps AI systems understand and classify online store content responsibly. We are committed to protecting merchant, store, and customer privacy while enabling secure AI data access.

DEFINITIONS:

Customer – A "Customer" is anyone who purchases/avails Lumos LLMs products or services.

User – A "User" is anyone who visits our website or uses our application.

Personal Information – "Personal information" means any information that relates to a natural person, which, either directly or indirectly, in combination with other information available, is capable of identifying such person.

INFORMATION WE ACCESS:

To generate an llms.txt file, Lumos LLMs may access only necessary store data, limited to:

Store name and store URL,

Publicly visible product information:

Product titles,

Descriptions,

Images (URLs only),

Product prices & currency,

Product categories, tags, and collections

We do not access or collect private customer information, orders, payment data, or hidden metafields unless explicitly granted by the merchant.

As part of the AI Visibility Score feature, Lumos also uses store name and publicly visible product information (titles, product types, tags) to test how AI assistants answer real buyer questions about the store, as described in "AI Visibility Testing" below.

INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT:

Lumos LLMs does not store or process any of the following:

Customer names, emails, phone numbers, or addresses,

Order history or payment information,

Sensitive metafields or private product data,

Admin passwords or Shopify credentials

Lumos LLMs does not sell, share, or trade any data with third parties.

PURPOSE OF DATA ACCESS:

Data is used only to:

Generate and preview an llms.txt file,

Improve product discoverability by AI search systems,

Apply merchant settings (filters, disallow rules, categories, etc.),

Test how AI assistants answer real buyer questions about the store, as part of the AI Visibility Score feature

We do not sell store or product data. See "AI Visibility Testing" below for how data is used with third-party AI providers.

AI VISIBILITY TESTING:

The AI Visibility Score feature sends the store name and publicly visible product information (titles, product types, tags), along with representative buyer questions, to third-party AI providers — including OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude), and Perplexity — in order to observe how each AI assistant responds and to score the store's visibility. The Basic plan tests against one AI model; the Pro plan tests against all four. This data is sent to these providers' APIs under their respective business/API terms, is not used by Lumos LLMs to train any AI model, and is not shared with any party beyond the AI provider needed to generate the test response. Merchants who do not want their store or product data sent to third-party AI providers should not enable the AI Visibility Score feature.

DATA STORAGE & RETENTION:

Lumos LLMs does not store private customer or order data. We do maintain a secure database, hosted separately from Shopify, that stores:

Merchant settings and preferences (e.g., Prompt questions sets, Competitor name),

Generated file versions (llms.txt, llms-full.txt, agents.md) so they can be reissued or compared over time,

AI Visibility Score results (scores, competitor mentions, citations) so merchants can track trends over time

This data is derived from public store/product information and AI Visibility Score testing, not from private customer data. Merchants may request deletion of their stored data at any time.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES:

Lumos LLMs uses:

Shopify OAuth for secure authentication,

Shopify APIs for product data access,

Third-party AI provider APIs (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Perplexity) for the AI Visibility Score feature, as described in "AI Visibility Testing" above

We do not use analytics or advertising tools with merchant data, and we do not use merchant data to train any AI model.

MERCHANT CONTROL:

Merchants can control what appears in the llms.txt file, including:

Hiding product prices,

Disabling product categories,

Blocking specific URLs, folders, or collections,

Restricting bots or AI models explicitly

The app will never override user privacy choices.

SECURITY:

We have established electronic and administrative safeguards designed to secure the information we collect, to prevent unauthorized access to or disclosure of that information and to ensure it is used appropriately. Although we strive to keep your Personal Information secure, no security measures are absolute, and we cannot guarantee that your Personal Information will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this Policy.

POLICY CHANGES AND UPDATES:

We may update this policy to comply with new AI or data regulations. Updated versions will be posted within the app and take effect immediately upon use. Please check our application periodically for changes to this Privacy Policy.
